Keyboard Troubleshooting Guide
Spilled Liquids on Keyboard
Immediately disconnect the keyboard (or shut down the laptop completely) and remove the battery if possible. Flip it upside down so gravity pulls moisture away from the electrical contacts. Let it dry for at least 24-48 hours before testing. Do not use a hairdryer on high heat as it can melt membrane layers.
Keys Generating Wrong Characters
If keys register correctly on the tester (the correct physical switch lights up) but generate the wrong letter, your operating system has the wrong keyboard layout language active (e.g., QWERTY vs. AZERTY or Dvorak). Change this in your OS system settings under "Time & Language" or "Keyboard Layouts".
Keystrokes Jamming or Dropping
If pressing multiple keys simultaneously causes some keys to drop, your keyboard operates on a 2-Key Rollover (2KRO) matrix block. This is a physical matrix limitation, not a software bug. Upgrading to a mechanical keyboard supporting N-Key Rollover (NKRO) resolves gaming ghosting issues.
Privacy & Data Security Policy
Your privacy is absolutely critical to us. Everything you type or test runs entirely in your browser and never leaves your device. See our full Privacy Policy for the details.
- Keystroke Collection: We do not log, capture, parse, or transmit any inputs pressed during your sessions. Key capture is handled exclusively by your browser client via HTML5 JavaScript APIs.
- Cookies & Tracking: We use a single Google Analytics cookie to count visits. We do not use advertising cookies, marketing pixels, or server-side logging.
- External Analytics: We use Google Analytics to measure high-level traffic — pages viewed, rough location, and device type. It never receives anything you type or test, and does not store your IP address.
